Pent Kit - Product Guide
The term "pent system" in shooting primarily refers to a five-legged rifle support or modular shooting stick system. This can be a modification you can do to your Spartan Quad sticks. Designed to maximize stability for long-range hunting and precision target shooting.

The SpringBok Pent Kit provides a simple upgrade solution for converting SpringBok Quad Sticks into the Pent System. Designed to add a fifth leg for increased versatility, the kit integrates with your existing SpringBok setup while retaining the familiar functionality of your Quad Sticks.
Step 1 – Unscrew the Legs
Loosen all four height-adjustment twist-lock leg locks by approximately a ¼ turn anti-clockwise.
Make sure the legs can move freely up and down.
Step 2 - Remove the Rests and Legs
Unscrew each leg from the silicone head by turning it anti-clockwise.
Make sure you unscrew all of the legs, not just the rear legs. On models with a magnetic closure, the closure magnet also needs to be reversed so that it continues to function correctly after reassembly.
Older-generation Quad Sticks: If your Quad Sticks do not have a magnetic closure, you only need to unscrew the rear legs from the cradle.
Step 3: Reverse the Magnetic Closure
Using an adjustable spanner, carefully unscrew the spigot. Take care not to scratch or damage any of the components.
Turn the magnetic closure upside down, then re-thread the spigot and tighten it securely. Reversing the magnetic closure allows it to continue functioning correctly once the Penta Kit has been installed.
Older-generation Quad Sticks: If your Quad Sticks do not have a magnetic closure, you can skip this step.
Step 4 : Fit the Pent Kit Head
If necessary, repeat the same procedure for the rear magnetic closure, ensuring it is reversed correctly.
Thread the rear cradle into the Pent Kit tripod head, then use an adjustable spanner to tighten it securely.
Once fitted, use a T10 Torx key to adjust the grub screws and make any final refinements to the alignment of the rear cradle.
Step 5 : Attach the Pent Head and Rear Cradle
Attach the Pent silicone head and rear cradle to the rear legs, then thread each connection in until hand-tight.
Optional: A low-strength threadlocker (Loctite) can be applied to the threads if additional security is required.
Attach the Pent silicone head and rear cradle to the rear legs. Thread each component into place and tighten securely by hand.
Optional: A small amount of low-strength Loctite can be applied to the threads if additional security is required.
Step 6 : Install the Fifth Leg
Thread the fifth leg into the Pent Kit head and tighten securely by hand,
Check that all legs are securely tightened and correctly fitted. Make sure there is no looseness or movement before using your Pent Sticks.
Final Step: Secure for Transport
Use the clips from your original Quad Sticks to secure the Pent Kit together. Clip the fifth leg to the Quad Sticks so it remains neatly stowed and secure during travel and transportation.
If Your Quad Sticks Have Been Secured with Loctite
Follow these additional steps only if the converters have been secured with Loctite and cannot be removed easily.
Step 1 – Remove the Front & Rear Rifle Rests
First, remove the front and rear rifle rests from your Quad Sticks.
If your sticks are fitted with a Spigot and Rear Cradle:
Using the T10 Torx key supplied with your Quad Sticks, loosen the two grub screws by turning them anti-clockwise.
Remove the Spigot and Rear Cradle and place them somewhere safe – you will need them again later.
Step 2 – Heat the SpringBok Head
Heating the assembly will help soften the Loctite and make the converter easier to remove.
Boil a full kettle, staying within the kettle's stated maximum fill level.
Place one silicone SpringBok head into a suitable heat-resistant container.
Carefully pour in the boiling water until the entire head is submerged.
Leave it submerged for 4–5 minutes.
Caution: The water, SpringBok head and internal components will become very hot. Use suitable heat protection and handle them with care.
Step 3 – Secure the Warm SpringBok Head
After 4–5 minutes:
Carefully drain the hot water.
Using suitable heat protection, place the warm SpringBok head into a vice.
Ensure the vice jaws have a protective covering to prevent damage to the silicone.
Position the head as low as practical in the vice. This helps reduce the twisting force placed on the head when loosening the converter.
Tighten the vice just enough to hold the head securely. Do not overtighten.
Important: Proceed to the next step promptly while the assembly is still warm.
Step 4 – Remove & Reconfigure the Converters
With the SpringBok head held securely in the vice:
Using an adjustable spanner, unscrew the converter by turning it anti-clockwise.
Remove the magnetic closure and turn it over to reverse its orientation.
Refit the front rest – either the Spigot or Quick Shot Rest, depending on your setup.
Next, repeat the process for the rear T-Rest:
Heat and secure the rear SpringBok head using the same procedure above, if required.
Remove the existing converter/head.
Fit the Tripod Head supplied with the Pent Kit. This provides the connection required for the fifth leg.
Check the Magnetic Closure Alignment
Once everything has been reassembled, check the position of both magnetic closures.
Make sure both magnets are correctly aligned and parallel with the SpringBok bodies. Incorrect alignment may prevent the magnetic closure from operating effectively.
